What is a tiled watermark?

A repeating diagonal text pattern applied across the entire image — like the security strip on a banknote. The text repeats every few hundred pixels at a -30° angle, so cropping out one section still leaves the rest of the pattern intact.

Why a tiled watermark instead of a corner one?

Corner watermarks crop off in two clicks. Tiled watermarks survive cropping because removing them removes the product itself. They're the standard for stock-photo previews (Shutterstock, Getty) for exactly this reason.

How long can my watermark text be?

Accepted Answer

1 to 60 characters. Use your brand name, store handle, or a short URL. Text longer than 60 chars is rejected to keep the per-tile readable.

Will the watermark hurt my image quality?

Marginally. Text is overlaid at roughly 35% opacity with a thin dark stroke for legibility. Your product details remain visible underneath. For listing usage, the visual cost is small relative to the anti-theft benefit.

Yes — PNG input → PNG output, with transparency preserved. WebP input → WebP output. JPEG and other formats output as JPEG with white-flatten.

That's exactly the design intent. Even a 25% crop will still contain several full instances of the pattern. Screenshotting captures whatever is on screen, watermark and all.

Yes — full Unicode is supported. Hindi, Tamil, emoji, and special characters all render as long as the SVG renderer in the underlying library can find a glyph (which it usually can for common Indic scripts).

Are my images saved on your servers?

No. Anonymous uploads run entirely in memory. We receive the file, apply the watermark, send back the result, and discard the buffer. Nothing is persisted to disk or database.

Most marketplaces ban watermarks on the primary (main) product image. Use watermarks on secondary lifestyle images, Instagram/social posts, or as a pre-publish stage to test for theft. For the marketplace primary image, upload a clean version.

Can I make the watermark larger or smaller?

Tile size auto-scales with image dimensions to maintain consistent visual density — bigger images get bigger tiles. There's no manual size override in the free tool.

Why does the watermark text have an outline?

Accepted Answer

A pure-white watermark disappears on white backgrounds; pure-black disappears on dark. The thin dark outline (15% opacity) keeps the text readable on both light and dark areas of your product photo.
